Fish Methi

Ingredients

500 gms fish (boneless)
1 onion, chopped finely
1 tomato, chopped finely
1" inch ginger
4 garlic flakes
5 green chillies, chopped finely
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
2 cup fenugreek leaves
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp cumin seeds powder
1 tbsp lemon juice
Pinch of hing
Salt as per taste
1 cup water
3 tbsp oil
Corriander leaves for garnishing

Method:

  1. Wash, Clean the fish
  2. Make small pieces (approx 1" inch) of fish
  3. Marinate fish pieces with lemon juice, salt and turmeric powder
  4. Keep aside for an hour
  5. Wash and chop finely the fenugreek leaves
  6. Make a paste of ginger-garlic
  7. Heat oil in a pan
  8. Add pinch of hing
  9. Add ginger-garlic paste, chillies and simmer for a minute
  10. Add onion and fry till transparent
  11. Add tomatoes and simmer for 2 minutes
  12. Add fenugreek leaves and stir
  13. Add garam masala, cumin seeds powder and coriander powder
  14. Add 1 cup water and let it cook for 5 minutes
  15. Add fish pieces and salt as per taste
  16. Cook till fish is tender
  17. Garnish with coriander leaves
  18. Serve hot with rice
