If you have seen the Ben Affleck and Sandra Bullock starrer 'Forces of Nature' and wondered why this movie hasn't yet inspired bollywood film makers then look no further, 'Kitne Door Kitne Paas' is here to answer your question. Directed by Mehul Kumar the film overtly lifts the plot of the hollywood flick and tries to sell it out to the Indian audience with a dash of masala and usual song and dance routine.

It all starts when two Indians on their way to get married to their respective spouses bump into each other in New York, and what would have seemed like a one meet affair turns into something that changes their lives forever. From New York starts a journey that changes their destinies and binds then together by the strong threads of fate. Instead of portraying nature as the havoc maker, here we have a case of a flight to their hometown that is cancelled making them give each other company . Initially shown as bitter enemies, time and their destinies finally make both of them empathise for each other , ruffling their passions and making them question the choices that lay ahead. With their respective bride played by Sonali Kulkarni and bridegroom played by Ayub Khan waiting in anticipation for their other halves, the journey becomes all the more complex and full of surprises. What happens in the climax is for you guys to go and find out, will they be too near the inevitable end or way to far from a clichéd happy ending ?

Mehul Kumar seems to have had an idea of making a light, fluffy romantic comedy, but the plot in the second half is full of an overdose of dramatic scenes, and expected dialogues and characters. The comedy handled by Satish Shah, Ketaki Dave and Tiku Talsania is good and does crate the needed effect. Sanjeev Darshan have given a decent score, and the title track already seems to have caught up on the youngsters. The camerawork is complimented by the foreign locations and add to the overall look of the film.

Fardeen and Amrita Arora look good onscreen and the chemistry between the two is fairly believable. The light and humorous scenes in the first half will be appreciated by the masses. However, despite his magnetic charm and appeal ,Fardeen needs to work a lot on his dialogue delivery and his dancing. Amrita despite having unconventional looks as a bollywood heroine does manage to carry off the role surprisingly well. She has the confidence and the right amount of zeal and energy that is needed for the role.

'Kitne Door Kitne Paas' would have been far more better had it avoided the same over-trodden path that most movies follow. However, with some light moments, and the onscreen chemistry between the lead actors may help get this movie generate decent earnings at the box office.
