Manisha Takes Contoversial Roles

Just recently recieving much acclaim for the much acclaimed Company, Manisha Koirala has more acclaim headed her way. The information regarding her two films with National Award Winning Director Ujjal Chattopadhyay has been released and the stories are bound to win her a title not many other actresses hold.

Manisha is the only actress who took these two roles which deal with extremely controversial subjects, especially at the time it is being produced.

In Wounded Tigress, the actress plays a woman who with her hubby travel to United States after their wedding only to be embraced by the tragic September 11th attacks. The group producing the film, The Titan Group, decided to make the film before any other country and plan to finish it very soon.

In Escape From Taliban, which is already in the making and should release soon, Manisha plays a real life character of a woman who married an Afghan national. As she embraces a life with him she is taken through his life where she encounters the horrible real life of the Taliban woman. Manisha has put in a lot of research for the character, visiting the real woman and the Taliban themselves. She does admit that she had doubts in portraying the character, but is glad she went through with it.
