Hrithik & Ash To Star In Film Together

Aankhen team fall-out
Hrithik Roshan Ramesh Sippy has become the first director to pair Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai. The director of films like 'Seeta Aur Geeta', 'Sholay', 'Saagar' and 'Shakti' will have the two in a soon to be launched film. Though Sippy was keeping the project under wraps, the beans were spilled by Hrithik's father, Rakesh Roshan. It may be recalled that more than a dozen producers and directors were chasing this 'dream pair', and this included Roshan senior.

To see Hrithik and Aishwarya together has been the dream of every filmgoer in the country right from the time Hrithik's career took off with 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai' and Aishwarya made it big with 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' and 'Taal'. The two were supposed to feature in the 'Diwali commercial' of Coca-Cola last year but Aishwarya could not make it and her part in it went to Aditi Gowitrikar. But the company's marketing brains eventually got the two together in another ad.

Everything was looking to Rakesh Roshan to get the two together on the silver screen, but at the recent International Indian Film Awards in Sun City, South Africa, Rakesh announced that Preity Zinta would be playing opposite Hrithik in his next film. The news came as a disappointment to a lot of people who had been looking forward to seeing Hrithik and Aishwarya together. It is reported that Rakesh was flooded with calls from disappointed people.

Rakesh, who manages his son's career, then had a word with friend Ramesh Sippy, who had already acquired some dates from Aishwarya. Rakesh told him that as far as Hrithik was concerned, the matching dates would be no problem. This naturally came as a godsend for Sippy.

Ramesh has been keeping a low profile of late because of some disputes within the family. This project is exactly the stuff to get him back into the limelight and have the distributors queuing up before him with big fat cheques. The film is expected to go on the floors around Diwali and should be ready in a year's time.

Hrithik will be seen soon with Kareena Kapoor in 'Yaadein', directed by Subhas Ghai. The film is slated for release in the last week of this month. There is one more film starring the two, Karan Johar's 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham'.
