Karan Johar Sued For K3G
Aankhen team fall-out
Karan Johar, the director of
'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', learned something new recently - never use any
copyrighted tunes without the permission of the owner, especially when the
copyright belongs to an international company. Remember the background tune
in K3G as Kareena Kapoor makes her entry? Apparentely, that tune is lifted
from Geri Haliwell's hit number Raining Men, the rights for which are with
music-company Virgin Records International. When Virgin Records learned of
this plagiarism they filed a suit against Karan for using their track without
permission. Karan was summoned to a London court where the matter is now believed
to have been settled for Rs. 25 lakh. The grapewine has it that out of the
total amount Virgin India too got 12 lakh
